My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding....Katie Price has found her people!!

So if your anything like me you've been hooked to Channel 4 on Tuesday nights tuning in to see what the traveller community will do next?! The show first aired as a one of Cutting Edge special for Channel 4, but received so much interest it was commissioned for a series early last year, so now we have it...a peek into the life of the travelling community! Last weeks episode saw a glimpse at the lives of male travellers and it was shocking! (As per usual!). Is this the beauty of the show though? A few shocks and laughs, but what happens when we become accustomed to this behaviour? There's already been TV shows about the Amish Community so whose next to be put under the scrutiny of the public eye? What do you think?

Also did anyone catch a few of the 'stars' of gypsy wedding on Alan Carr 2 weeks ago? HOW AKWARD?! Thelma the dress maker just loves the limelight! And bless that young couple, they had nothing to say and probably wondered why they were even there on the same set as Usher!!

Hi Tec Viral Ad - Liquid Mountaineering

This Viral ad for Hi-tec has gathered almost 9 million views in the space of 12 months and was even featured on Channel 4's Rude Tube counting down the top 50 viral ads of the year!

The ad looks at the sport of liquid mountaineering and the equipment needed for consumers if they wish to learn how to become a liquid mountaineer.

The ad flows like a short film and has a great story, this is prbably why it has been so well received online, with the ad culminating in a successfull liquid mountaineering attempt for the whole team. As well as this while focusing on the sport it heavily suggests the use of the equipment therefore making it a successful viral ad!

EWOM....what does a review mean?

So lets take crisps reviews as an examply of EWOM techniques...Ive chosen 3 reviews i found online to compare and contrast.

Review no. 1 - http://www.reviewcentre.com/review674161.html
This is a review about Roast Beef Monster Munch. This wasnt a great review, it was written by a consumer of an older demographic than monster munch is aimed at. It was also a very descriptive and personal review rathar than focusing on the product it focused on the consumer, so all in all it wasnt very helpful!

Review no. 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slpChM-LY0Q
This is a review about the World Cup Walkers Crisps flavours! This review is interactive as it is on video, therefore it felt more credible and relevant to my research. This was another consumer review, but from a younger demographic. It was informative and funny and very much enjoyed!

Review no.3 http://www.reviewcentre.com/review661452.html
This is a very short consumer review detailing the writers need for the return of Bovril crisps. It is hard to rate this review for demographics and lifestyle as it is so short however we can assume it is an older writer as they are talking about crisps from a while ago. However i thought it was interesting how the writer reccomends a new pack of crisps that apparantly taste like bovril! This review made me want bovril crisps!

Thanks for reading about EWOM today! and remember...Let's get digital!

Map of Marketing Information Systems - Daniel et al

This journal explores Daniel's objective to devlop a high level process map of the marketing domain and then use this map to develop a map of marketing information systems.

Above is the map created of the marketing domain which is a definete strength of the journal as opposed to the IS map it is much clearer and can be easily adapted to the moving nature of the marketing climate.

This is the IS support map Daniel created which is much less adaptable than the original domain map as it is very busy and would be less adaptable to the changing environments of UK digital marketing activity.

In conclusion Daniel states that marketing practice has to keep up with IT modifications in order to work more efficiently.

Welcome!

Welcome to Let's Get Digital....I'll be using this blog to discuss the rise of digital marketing, through models, theories and my own opinions. Hope you enjoy it!
